The EuRiCa project aims to contribute to and promote the preservation of ritual cuisine, its ethnocultural characteristics and the folklore and traditions associated with it. This is done by developing a methodology to digitise ritual recipes, thus making them accessible worldwide.
The cultural association Blaues Fenster, which manages the Silent Night Museum in the Pflegerschlössl in Wagrain, is taking part in this Europe-wide project and has some experience in recording ritual recipes. However, as the connection to the Christmas carol "Silent Night! Holy Night!" already suggests with recipes from the Advent and Christmas season. In the anniversary year of the world-famous Christmas carol in 2018, the cultural association Blaues Fenster published a cookbook entitled "Christmas in Europe", which brought together Christmas recipes as well as customs and traditions at Christmas time from all European countries.
In the coming weeks and months, together with the other European project partners, we will of course present ritual recipes for the other festive occasions that present themselves in the cycle of the year and keep you up to date on the EuRiCa project.
